How to dress in the 18th century:

I am officially done with school for the semester, so Friday night I was able to open this!

"She" is almost exactly my measurements, except I can't get the hips quite large enough, but that's okay, because I don't really intend to be making pants on her (and I have two legs!).

So without further ado, my first tutorial:

Busyness

So I feel like I have kinda neglected this for a little while, but once exams are over I will be back with some awesome stuff!  Because...
On cyber Monday I ordered:
  • A dressform
  • "Seventeenth and Eighteenth Centiry Fashion in Detail"
  • "Costume Close-Up" and
  • "Patterns of Fashion" (all books, and awesome ones at that!)

I can't wait to get them, even though I can't open them until next Friday. :-(
But once this semester is over, I'm going to definitely post more!
Until then!
Bye, I have a PowerPoint to do!

Some holiday classic songs...

So, since it's sufficiently holiday-ish weather here, I think it's time for some holiday music!
My holiday songs playlist.
And just in case I didn't say the word holiday enough...holiday!

I bet the 40's never thought of this...

It's kind of hard to put on headphones when you're wearing sponge rollers in your hair. It's actually quite funny-looking! :-)

It's the Holiday Season...

I've been thinking about Christmas presents today... I don't know what to give all the people on my list, but I'll probably make most of it. I don't know what it is, but I'd rather make someone a present than buy something for them. But anyway, if I make all the things I'm planning on, there should be some good tutorials coming up (after Christmas, of course!).

Also, my grandma bought me some historic fashion books as my Christmas present, so there will definitely be some exciting and interesting things to look forward to on this blog next year!
